Advanced A/V Solutions and Smarter Homes is located in the beautiful hills of Austin, Texas. Both companies were started by Peter Sandford, who knew at an early age that he had a passion for audio, video and low voltage. After graduating high school he went on to earn an associate’s degree in communications in upstate New York. While making his way to New York City by working as an electricians apprentice, he attended the Institute of Audio Research where he earned a second degree as an Audio Engineer. During his school career, he was able to explore the many possibilities available in his specialty and, unlike the majority; he developed a specific passion for home and business low voltage applications.

Home theater design and installation opened even more opportunities for Peter when he moved to Austin, Texas in 2004. He saw a need for a company that was local, honest, and educated in the products they offered and installed. He had been to many jobs where the customer had been left midway in the project, or when promises had been made and never delivered. At that time he made it a personal goal to offer his services to those people and to new customers who had no idea what they needed or wanted but could use his education to guide them in their decision making.
